Chartwell nursing home is a grand old house situated on Dyke Road Avenue, one of the most highly regarded residential roads in the city of Hove, and as with a number of the properties on the south side of the road there are distant sea views from this prominent hilltop position. With a sweeping in and out driveway and ample parking for visitors, the home offers a real ‘home from home’ atmosphere with a beautifully decorated interior and large peaceful gardens for all to enjoy.

We're proud to have achieved a SILVER status LGBTQ Inclusion Award This certificate hereby certifies that this organisation was a part of the CIRCLE project and was involved in the design of the CIRCLE care home guide on LGBTQ+ inclusion in care homes.

Activities at Chartwell

Our person centered activities schedule is key to the happiness and wellbeing of our residents. We have developed strong relationships with the local community and everyone is welcome, for example PAT dogs and singers visit regularly. We are excited to be working in partnership with OOMPH! Our residents tell us they look forward to the weekly exercise party and the monthly trips out are loved by all – whether it’s a trip to a local garden centre or watching the world go by on the seafront, there’s something for everyone!

Eliza’s journey into nursing began from a personal experience of nursing and the impact of wanting to promote dignity and choice to the elderly. Eliza is the registered manager leading a team of dedicated staff to fulfil their potential, encouraging them through extensive training and development. Eliza is warm and welcoming and engages with the residents to form a special bond. Her door is always open and she spends quality time with each resident in Chartwell. Providing care is not just medical, it is about helping and supporting the whole person in both a mental and a physical sense.

Emma is a registered nurse with over 20 years experience in providing safe, high quality care to the elderly. She always leads by example and ensures she is highly visible.
